Coconut Oil and MCT’s – Fats for HGH

Coconut Oil Increases HGH

Coconut oil is a great health supplement which has been shown to improve many health markers.

It is shown to increase HGH in studies which is attributed to its MCT content.

Coconut Oil is Healthy

Coconut oil became quite the storm in 2017. With Hollywood’s finest celebrities swearing by this “superfood”, there have been an abundance of health claims around coconut oil. Little known is that Coconut oil increases HGH.

From a glance it should seem that coconut oil is not good for you, given that upwards of 86% is saturated fat. This exceeds butter (51%) and lard (39%).

Generally, more saturated fat increase “bad” LDL (low density lipoprotein) cholesterol which has long been believed by doctors and the public to increase the risk of developing heart disease.

However, in 2017 the view that saturated fats cause heart disease was called “plain wrong” an editorial of the British Journal of Sports Medicine (1) and that societies view on the matter needed a rapid altering.

Although it has a very high saturated fat content, Coconut oil actually improves cholesterol profiles.

Although at a glance it looks unhealthy, coconut oil  is actually very good for you. Here is why you should consume some coconut oil:

  • Increase good cholesterol
  • Decrease risk of heart disease
  • Boost brain power
  • Burn more fat
  • Kill harmful microorganisms
  • Suppress appetite
  • Improve skin health
  • Improve hair health
  • Improve dental health

Examining the health of populations who have consumed lots of coconuts for centuries strengthens the idea that long term consumption is not detrimental to health.

Studies (2) (3) show that the Kitavians in South Papua New Guinea and the Tokelauans in the South Pacific are very healthy with a small to absence presence of heart disease and coconuts are a staple of their diet.

Coconut oil has become a hit in the bodybuilding scene as it contains medium-chain-triglycerides (MCTs).

MCTs increases users metabolic rate and fat oxidation – assisting fat loss.

Coconut Oil is comprised of about 62% MCT oil.

Coconut Oil HGH boosting properties

One study (4), found that consuming 1.5g/kg of MCT’s in 10 healthy children (5-11 years old) found that HGH levels started increasing 60 minutes after consumption.

At 90 minutes they were 780% higher and at 120 minutes they were 960% higher. They were still elevated at the last measure at 180 minutes.

This is 80 grams of a coconut oil for an 80kg adult, given that its is about 62% comprised of MCT Oils.

This is about 5 and a half tablespoons of coconut oil and 660 calories. This would be heavy in one sitting but possible over a day.

Verdict

Coconut oil is a great health food and deserves the press it gets.

Coconut oil Increases HGH significantly

However, the benefits seem to directly arise from the MCT’s –seemingly more so than supplements.

So I would recommend consuming coconut oil for all round health if that is your goal.

If you just want the HGH boost then a concentrated MCT oil product may be more efficient for your wallet and your diet.
